“Let’s sneak snacks”
To someone not in my family, this phrase would just be a simple sentence, a command, maybe odd, but not particularly funny or outstanding. That’s the thinnest description: a simple sentence. However, if I were to say this to one of my cousins I would be (1) trying to keep an inside joke going by (2) trying to invoke humor by (3) reminding them of a memory of our childhood that was particularly funny and unforgettable.
